4 1/2 Star Review – Hello Forever by Sarina Bowen

4 1/2 Star Review – Hello Forever by Sarina Bowen

When they were only teenagers, Axel and Caxton were caught making out in the woods at church camp. And afterward, Cax had disappeared from all the youth group activities.

Six years later, Axel is astonished to spot his first love’s face in the crowd of a college basketball game he’s watching on TV—at a school which has just offered him a job. It’s a thousand miles away, in a tiny rural town. But suddenly, he can’t wait to get there.

Cax can’t believe his eyes when Axel appears in the same Massachusetts town where he now lives. And he’s still just as drawn to Axel as ever. But he can’t let himself go there again, because loving Axel will mean giving up everything else he holds dear.

Both men have so much to lose. But as far as their love is concerned, it’s Hello Forever.

Hello Forever is a stand-alone novel with no cliff-hangers. Readers of Goodbye Paradise will get to check in on Caleb and Josh and their clan.

Hello Forever by Sarina Bowen is one of those books that comes along and grabs your attention then totally smacks you across the face with how flipping good it is.

I almost have no words that are worthy of conveying all the feels I had while reading and falling in love with this book and these characters. I’ll try, but let’s just say that I was left emotionally drained after I inhaled it and I have not one regret about it.

There was just a special something about Cax and Axel’s story that dug a burrow into my heart and left a mark. Make no mistakes, this book has some truly heart wrenching parts, but it’s perfectly balanced with the love you can almost feel emanating from the page. One that was so strong that not even years and distance could diminish.

Both Axel and Cax are characters that will stay with you long after you turn the last page. But for the same and very different reasons, as weird as that sounds. Axel because he’s Axel. The out and proud guy who takes a huge chance and moves to a new state to start his career. Cax because the pain and suffering he endures at the hands of his father so he can remain close to his brothers. It’s heartbreaking and heart-warming at the same time. Both of them because despite everything they have gone through both separately and together, it only makes their bond stronger.

Be prepared to laugh, have your heart dragged through the wringer while reading, have tissues handy and maybe a glass of your favourite cold drink too. I did say all the feels after all.  It’s truly an emotional roller coaster, one I will happily take again.

Plus if you have read Goodbye Paradise (OMG if you haven’t you need to, it’s awesome) you will see Josh and Caleb who have settled into domestic bliss and it’s so fantastic to see them again.

Sarina Bowen has once again delivered a story that will remind you that love is love no matter what and that everyone deserves it in their life.
