Jesse Warrick used to consider himself a kickass medic, but a teammate’s brush with death has him questioning everything. Now he’s been promoted to field commander of HORNET. How can he lead when he can’t get his shit together? And how can he focus when the sexy new recruit makes him want to break the rules?

Lanie Delcambre can’t seem to find solid footing within the elite hostage rescue team. Worse, the man she’s loved for most of her life is now her boss. She’d kill to act on the chemistry between her and Jesse, but she can’t risk ruining her career.

It was only supposed to be a training mission. No live ammo, no hostages, and no real bad guys—only someone didn’t give the bad guys that memo. When their hotel is taken hostage with half of HORNET inside, Jesse and Lanie are the team’s only hope of escaping alive…

Hornet is back! Tonya Burrows delivers another pulse pounding, adrenaline filled roller coaster ride of suspense and romance in Code of Honor and believe me dear reader this is one ride you do not want to miss.

Fair warning, take a deep breath before you start this book because it will be the last full breath you take till you finish. The action starts immediately and does not stop till you turn the last page drained (good drained) and so ready for the next Hornet book.

NEVER think for an instant that this story will go where you expect it to, NEVER! That’s one of the things I loved about this book to be honest. Just when you thought there was a chance that you can catch your breath, BAM, something new happens and you are off an running again.

I’m going to stay as spoiler free as possible as this is very much a story you need to experience. But what I will say is that be prepared to FEEL ALL THE FEELS. My emotions were dragged all over the place and I am so not sorry for it. I’m not kidding here, one minute you will be swooning, the next holding your breath, then laughing and even shedding a tear or ten over certain events.

Jesse, the team’s medic and hero of this story just about broke my heart more than once while reading this book. This is a man with demons riding his tail and seeing him face his demons while fighting a losing battle over falling for Lanie and saving the day is something that is truly special.

As for Lanie, I love her. Seriously, she is kick ass awesome and watching her come into her true potential in this book just made me love her almost as much as Jesse does. Seeing her fall for Jesse while kicking tango’s ass, priceless.

For fans of the series, yes the other Hornet guys are there. Especially Jean-Luc who just about steals the show for a time. Man I can’t wait to see the crazy Cajun fall. Plus there are more than a couple surprises to keep long term readers happy. But my lips are sealed over what. You need to read it to find out.

That said, while this is part of a series, it can totally be read as a stand-alone. Just be warned that you might become hooked and want to gobble up the other books in the series. Which I for one highly recommend.

Well done Tonya Burrows on another unputdownable Hornet book, one that I’m still processing hours after I finished it, because so much happens that you can’t help but keep thinking of things. Well played, very well played.

Tonya Burrows wrote her first romance in 8th grade and hasn’t put down her pen since. Originally from a small town in Western New York, she suffers from a bad case of wanderlust and usually ends up moving someplace new every few years. Luckily, her two dogs and ginormous cat are excellent travel buddies.

When she’s not writing about hunky military heroes, Tonya can be found at a bookstore or the dog park. She also enjoys painting, watching movies, and her daily barre workouts. A geek at heart, she pledges her TV fandom to Supernatural and Dr. Who.
