~With a heavy heart, we share M.Leighton’s news “The Final Tale of Until I Break” ~

Today is truly a sad day for supporters and fans of Michelle as well for the writing and publishing world.

With a heavy heart, Michelle Leighton has posted on her blog that Until I Break will be removed from publishing. Today will be the last day it will be available to purchase in any format from the respective outlets.

When I wrote Until I Break, I could’ve watered down the story, made it more palatable, easier to accept. But as an artist, I didn’t want to cheat Sam and Alec out of their story. As I’ve said before, life isn’t always pretty, but I had hoped that the majority of people would be able to see beyond the ugly to the wonderful story of love and acceptance and healing that was embedded in Until I Break. Sadly, that hasn’t turned out to be the case.

So, rather than risking people misunderstanding Sam and Alec and, therefore, me as a person and author, I’m pulling the book from publication. It will no longer be available in any format from any source after tomorrow. Yes, I could leave it out there to earn money, but every cent would be bitter, knowing that there are some who not only don’t “get” the story, but who are misunderstanding it in a disheartening way.

I would like to say a big ol’ THANK YOU to everyone who read, loved and understood the twisted lives and beautiful love of Sam and Alec. You gave me so much happiness with your outpouring of amazingly supportive words. I’m truly, truly grateful.”

This is a great book from a phenomenally talanted author, who is so generous with her time and stories. I truly wish that you would show her your support if you haven’t already and get your very own copy of Until I Break. This book and these characters deserve to be read, enjoyed and loved.

  1. I just feel so bad for Michelle. Something pretty awful must have happened to shake her this severely, and I hope the support from wonderful bloggers like you guys, and all of the reader love I’m seeing at Goodreads and on her blog today, help her feel cherished and safe. I also can’t help but be angry at the mean and insensitive conduct that must have precipitated this decision, and frankly, at some of the comments it has engendered. as well. So sad that the most sensitive and creative souls are subjected to this kind of hazing. Thanks for your thoughtful and delicately phrased post. As usual, you guys rock!

  2. I had this on my wish list but have now purchased my copy.

This has been on my list to read since i 1st heard about it. I adore M. Leighton as an author and feel terrible that something has shaken her so much to take this action for what i am sure will be a fantastic read!

  3. I purchased yesterday after a post of Facebook from another talented Author Madeline Sheehan about Until I Break being removed. I read it in one day. I guess that makes me twisted because I loved it and will truly miss the characters. I can’t believe the people who read books that are not for them and then cause ugliness. This is a very sad day xo
