I’ve made no secret about it Mia is one of my favorite authors.  We started chatting online  when Arsen was released a little over a year ago. She makes time for every single fan, blogger, author.  Not only is she a phenomenal writer but she is one of the most genuine, sweetest, and caring authors I have had the privilege to chat with.  I haven’t even met her in person yet but I truly adore her.  Some may say well you don’t really know her but I disagree.  She is what we call good people.  You just know.  Top it off with her brilliant writing and the result is a die hard fan base.

Her stories are not for those with a need for the “perfect” ending and often incorporates the perfectly flawed human aspect  which  inevitably leads to a very emotionally charged story.  The more emotional the better.

My selfishness is your gain.  I wanted to know more behind the stories so without further adieu here you go…

Q.  Who is your inspiration for writing?

M.  Ah. Great question … I’d say Megan Hart. She’s my idol.

Q.  Who is your favorite author and what is your favorite book (s)?

M.  Hmm … Megan Hart, Jane Austen, Georgette Heyer, and J.K. Rowling. My favorite books would be Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, Lolita, The Harry Potter Series, Venetia, and so many others.

Q.  How long have you been writing?

M.  Hmm … well, I can tell you that I haven’t been writing my entire life. However, I have always loved reading. My dad bought me my first set of hardbacks when I was four years old. I remember falling in love with The Little Mermaid story and reading it over and over again, always hoping for a different outcome where she wouldn’t die. But to answer your question, I started to write maybe five years ago.

Q.  Did you always know you wanted to be a writer or was it a surprise to you ?

M.  It was definitely a surprise to me. I wanted to be a painter for a while.

Q.  What does the writing process entail for you?

M.  I need to feel the scene to write it, if I don’t I get bored and lose interest in the story. When I finished Arsen, I must’ve started writing about five to eight stories and stopped.

Q.  Your writing is so poetic, has underlying themes such as temptation, and symbolism intertwined within the stories and characters.  How did you learn to write?

M.  AWE! Thank you so much! What an amazing compliment! I write what I feel and the words just come naturally to me. I mean, don’t get me wrong, sometimes I have to fight for those words, those sentences, and paragraphs, but when the words come together you feel high.

Q.  What helps you most, life experience or education?

M.  I’d say both. I write about what I know. Also, I observe people and listen to them. I’m always paying attention to what’s going around me.

Q.  Are you surprised how the “book world” has embraced you and your stories?

M.  Oh my God, yes. I’m so thankful for all of my readers and the bloggers who have taken the time to read my work and support it. Without it, I wouldn’t be here.

Q.  Has it been overwhelming?

M.   It has been a little overwhelming, but GOOD overwhelming. I love talking and interacting with my readers. In my opinion, it’s probably the best feeling ever, especially when they are passionate about your story and characters.

Q.  Do you think there is a recipe or secret “algorithm” to become a successful writer?

 M.  Yes! Don’t give up on your work and don’t worry about what others are writing or about their success. Focus on your work and compete against yourself, not against others.

Q.  What do you think it entails?

M. A lot of hard work, but if you are passionate about your story, or stories, it shouldn’t feel like work.

Q.  Who was your inspiration for:
Cathy  Michelle Williams
Ben  Not exactly sure. I just saw him in my head. Tall, beautiful man with the kindest maple-colored eyes you’ve ever seen. Oh, and he had wild dark curls.
Arsen  Same as Ben. I didn’t even know he was going to be blond until I wrote the scene where he first appears in the novel
Blaire   A young Angelina Jolie.
Ronan   Same as Ben and Arsen. I pictured him in my mind first.
Lawrence  I still haven’t found a perfect Lawrence. Like Blaire describes him in the book, I see him as seductive smoke. LOL

Q.  Do you have a favorite character you have written so far?

M.  Yes! I love Arsen.

Q.  OMG you kill us with these endings.  Will you ever tell us who the baby daddy was in Arsen?

M.  No. At least not yet. 😉

Q.  Any hints as to Ronan or Lawrence?

M.  Nope. I mean, what makes you think Blaire doesn’t end up alone?

Q.  I know I’m probably in the minority but I love Lawrence oh and Ronan…I’m so torn. Is this the response you wanted?

M.   I like to make my readers feel torn just as my characters feel. If you feel torn, can you only imagine how Blaire feels?

Q.  Do you believe in ONE true love, a soul mate?

M.  Yep, I believe in both. But I think there is more than one kind of love out there.

Q.  Estimated release date for Virture #2

M.  Spring 2015

Q.  Any ideas for you next book, you want to leak it here?

M.  Ha! It’s my most taboo work to date. It makes Arsen and EV look like novices.

Q.  What 5 things do your fans not know about that you wish they did? Or name 5 things people/readers don’t know.

M. 1.  I put hot sauce on everything  I eat  2.  I love pizza.  3.  I’m obsessed with the English Royalty.  4.  I’m always cold.  5.  I hate gazpacho soup.

Q.  Is it hard to write about women like Blaire or Cathy?

M.  I don’t think so, but writing about Cathy was definitely harder than Blaire. Both very selfish in ways, does it make you uncomfortable? No, it doesn’t. What worries me is how the reader will react to them, but I can’t complain. The book community has been very good to me.

Q.  Who do you want Blaire to choose?

M.  Whatever or whomever makes her happy. Maybe she realizes that she doesn’t need a man to make her feel worthy of love.

Q.  What is the appeal of Ronan?

M.  Ronan is warmth and everything good in the world.

Q.  Lawrence?

M.  Lawrence is everything that is unknown, that is excessive, and full of passion.

Q.  Favorite hottie?

M.  Sean O’Pry

Q.  Favorite band?

M.  Right now I’m into T. Swift. Yep. I said it. 😉

Q.  Most exciting and or unusual place you had sex?

M.  Ha! Spring Break in Cancun … at a club.

Q.  Any closet scenes as we read about in Arsen?

M.  hahah … maybe?

Q.  Am I remembering correctly , but didn’t Blaire always make sure she was in a bed? Why do you think that is? (My apologies if I’m wrong).

M.  Yes … not sure why it happened like that. But I know that with Ronan, she wanted their first time to be in his bed. In her mind, it would make it more special and meaningful.

Q.  Are any scenes in either book from real life experiences?

M.  Ha… maybe one … or two. Which ones? Not telling. :*

Q.  Who is your biggest girl crush on?

M.  ha! I love Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce, and Kristen Stewart.

Q.  Which writer would you most like to meet?

M.  Jane Austen or J.K. Rowling

Q.  What is your idea of a perfect weekend?

M.  Going shopping, movies, and then dinner with lots of wine.

Q.  Anything you would like to add?

M.  Thank you so much for reading my stories and your support! I love you all!
