Author Interview

What is your favorite word? Syzygy – no vowels, and a really cool meaning: a mystical alignment of planets, or wait… celestial bodies. That sounds better, doesn’t it?

What is your least favorite word? C**t, used when someone is trying to be offensive

What turns you on?  Sexy words!

What turns you off? Bad manners.

What sound or noise do you love? The ocean.

What sound or noise do you hate? Vacuum cleaner

What is your favorite curse word? For fuck’s sake!

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Sniper.

What profession would you not like to do? Politician

What are you reading right now? ‘Precious Boys’ about rent boys/mm love; and ‘The Sea of Tranquility’ – again.

What book(s) do you urge readers to read? Leah Raeder’s ‘Unteachable’. Beautiful. Anything by  Jane Austen.

What inspires you? Possibilities

What is your favorite indulgence? You need to ask? Chocolate!

What is your favorite movie? ‘Point Break’. It changed by life. No, seriously. It made me want to go skydiving and surfing. So I did. I wouldn’t be living by the ocean now if I hadn’t fallen in love with surfing. I did a couple of parachute jumps too, but that never caught my imagination.

What is your favorite piece of clothing? A floor length silk cheongsam in peacock blue—beautiful, decadent, worn to impress (twice, I think). I bought it in Xian. The saleswoman had to get size XXL and she said, “Oh, you European women with your big hips.” Um, she works in sales?

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? Honeycomb

What is something you like to collect? Pebbles from the beach. I have vases full of them.

What item must you have with you at all times? Notebook and pen.

What city could you get lost in for hours to explore? Tokyo, or New York.

What is one thing about you that would surprise us? I thought I could write romance.never

About the author

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERA

I started writing contemporary romance two years ago. Before that, I didn’t think I could write a sex scene. Turns out I can!
My lucky number is 13 because I was born on the 13th and live near a haunted castle by the ocean. My number one past-time is watching hot surfers get changed into (and out of) their wetsuits.
My husband doesn’t read my books. My mother does.
Writing is my love, my hobby, my total addiction. All my characters are important to me and whisper their stories, even when I’ve finished writing their books. That’s why you’ll often find bonus chapters/out-takes from various books, because those voices just won’t be quiet.
