end of the innocence

He thought I owned him. He thought he loved me, that I was enough. But this animal, this sex god who could drive me crazy and steal my heart in the same breath, he would never fully be mine. It was impossible. No one ever owned a God…

One year. I have one year to find out more about this man I am marrying. More about his family. More about our sex, and all of the dirty, delicious places it will take me.

I thought I’d spend this year making a decision. I never thought the decision would be taken from me, snatched right from my naive little hands.

Nina's Review 2

“She is my everything.”

This book affected me in a way that I crave books to affect me….it made me teary eyed that it was over….it made me sad to think that Brad & Julia are living a life I will never hear about anymore….it made me slow down and start pacing myself because I was not ready for the end….but as we know ~ with all good things, they must end. So I find myself typing this review through misty eyes trying to convey to you how much I loved End of the Innocence by Alessandra Torre.

“But no one,” he growled, bringing his mouth down to my neck and teasing the curve of it, “will ever love you like I love you.”

Brad De Luca came on strong with me in Blindfolded Innocence and has owned a piece of my heart ever since. For me, I so much appreciate that Alessandra did not turn him into a mushy wuss that sometimes tends to happen as stories progress. Nope, she continued to write our Alpha male extremely bad ass while still giving his heart away to Julia. You can see over the span of  the three books his morphing into a man that can commit and I think more than anything it is because he found his true soul mate in Julia. Brad never thought he would find a woman who would enjoy his lifestyle….the lifestyle of the threesomes, swingers, ménage ~ whatever you prefer to call it. I know there are many out there who may not understand this sexual proclivity, but for Brad it wasn’t about needing more people in his bed because he wasn’t satisfied, it was about giving Julia the most pleasure she could ever experience – and did she ever experience it! One of the sexiest things about the way Alessandra wrote the erotic scenes in this book was how she explained, through Brad’s voice, why he liked to watch Julia with another man….what it was that turned him on when she was in the throes of passion….and truly what it made him feel while it was happening.  It gives me tingles remembering some of the scenes….they are intense, they are hot, they are explicit and they are beautiful…yes, Brad and Julia’s passion is explosive.

I’m not ever, as long as I live, going to have an orgasm without your hand on my cock, your mouth on my lips. If you want to bring in another girl, that is fine. But you are not watching. I’m not settling for second best when you are here.”

End of the Innocence takes place over a year and I love that we get to know these characters more in depth…we see the love deepening and it is believable. As we are voyeurs not only in their bedroom but in their life, the interaction they have with the secondary characters is enjoyable. The fights Julia had with her friends because she was pulling away…the struggle with introducing her fiancé to her parents….the fact Brad’s family is not in favor of this marriage at all are real struggles people have and watching them work through them was just a bonus to how Alessandra gave us a reality check in this book….not all things in life are easy.

“…You must be quite a woman if you tied down this stallion.”

I am always intrigued with mob/mafia books and the involvement of Brad’s family and their history in organized crime was enthralling to me. The way in which Julia handled Brad’s family was ballsy and I loved it! Alessandra gave us foreshadowing throughout the book, but the way it was all resolved was brilliant.

The horrific thing about having everything that he ever wanted was the constant fear that it would all disappear.

I truly hope everyone gets the opportunity to read this series. It is one I won’t soon forget and I would love to push aside my other commitments and reread it…..I am just not ready to let them go. Alessandra has fast become one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

No, no one ever owned a god. But I was working on taming, fooling him into submission.
