Synopsis 1

With a famous NHL player for a step-brother, Violet Hall is well acquainted with the playboy reputation many hockey stars come with. She’s smart enough to steer clear of those hot, well-built boys with unparalleled stamina. That is until she meets the legendary team captain—Alex Waters.

Violet isn’t interested in his pretty, beat-up face, or his rock-hard six-pack abs. But when Alex inadvertently obliterates Violet’s previous misapprehension regarding the inferior intellect of hockey players, he becomes more than just a hot body with a face to match.

In what can only be considered a complete lapse in judgment, Violet finds out just how good Alex is with the hockey stick in his pants. But what starts out as a one-night stand, quickly turns into something more. Post-night of orgasmic magic, Alex starts to call, and text, and e-mail and send extravagant—and quirky—gifts, making him difficult to ignore, and even more difficult not to like.

The problem is, the media portrays Alex as a total player, and Violet doesn’t want to be part of the game.

5 red stars

I’ve been Pucked and I’m proud to say so. Sign me up for the Pucked fan club because I need to be there.

To say Helena Hunting gave good Pucked is an understatement. I devoured this book within a few hours of it downloading and I am not ashamed to admit that I finished it and had to stop myself from picking it up and starting it all over again. I loved, loved, loved it.

Pucked is the perfect combination of romance, humour, snark, hot sex, raunch and has enough embarrassing family moments to make us all feel better about our family.
Any book that can have me laughing to the point of it actually turning into guffaws is a winner for me and Pucked had me guffawing so often I was glad I was alone when reading it as I would have elicited many strange looks.

“Not at all. I’m just throwing out hypotesticals.” I coughchoke. “Do you mean hypotheticals?”

Alex and Violet are now in my top ten of favourite book couples. How can they not be with their beaver jokes (yes, they aren’t just talking about Canada’s favourite animal), hot lovin, and overall fun. Even when Alex lands in the shit with Violet he’s still hot. Plus the chemistry between them…..hoo boy they’re hot together.

“I further my own embarrassment and his by cupping my breasts and squeezing. “They’re nice for real ones, huh?” His eyes shoot to mine. Busted. “I uh—I didn’t mean to—I wasn’t—” This is one of the most entertaining interactions I’ve had with a member of the opposite sex in ages. I make a snicker-snort noise and look away.”

Oh and have I mentioned hot Alex is? No, shame on me. Alex and his monster cock aka MC are drool worthy. He could park his skates under my bead any day. I don’t blame Violet for Jilling off to him, not at all. Mmmm, sorry daydreaming about Alex and MC, is it getting hot in here or is it just me?

“I can’t wait to have my mouth on you again. I’m gonna eat you like I’m on death row and you’re my last goddamned meal.” I moan—because what other response does a declaration like that warrant?

Be warned that once you start this book you will not want to put it down. It’s that freaking good. This book was totally not what I expected and so much more. What Helena Hunting has done is show that you can have a rip-snorting, hilarious romantic read that doesn’t have to be all emo for you to love it.

Alex’s monster of an erection nestles between my legs, and dear Lord, does it ever feel awesome. It could bust a zipper it’s so huge. I imagine it with little fists, punching its way out, and giggle.

This is an absolute five star read for me, I wish I could give it more. I’ve already stated I loved it but I really, really did. Books like this one don’t come around very often. One’s that surprise you and become instant favourites and this is definitely one of those.

Helena Hunting you have a huge new fan in me. Watch out for the fan girling, I take it pretty serious. You have been warned.
